Handscraped and Distressed hardwood floors are a popular choice in upscale homes and commercial buildings. Hand scraping is done to add texture, richness and uniqueness. It can be done by machine or by hand. True hand sraping is exactly that – done by hand. The skill of the person scraping the floor gives the flooring a truly unique look contrary to the use of machines which creates a more consistent repeating pattern.

Choose between heavy, medium, or light scraping and pillowing. Pillowing is done at the board edges to give it a rounded appearance. Usually, Rivershores will scrape your flooring in our plant, but we can also scrape after installation at your site.

Your flooring will have a Tung Oil finish applied to it which gives it the “Old World” appearance.
